Winnetka Ensuites

ABOUT THIS PROJECT

The Winnetka Ensuites involved the gut rehabilitation of three bathrooms in an approximately 3,000 square foot, 2-story single family home built in 1944. The scope included a luxury Master Ensuite featuring a walk-in shower, a custom double vanity, and luxury fixtures; a Hall Bathroom including the refinishing of a cast-iron bathtub, new vanity, and luxury tile; and a Tiny Ensuite bathroom including a walk-in shower, floating sink, and intricate tile work.

Having raised their family in this home for 30 years, our clients wanted to indulge themselves while bringing their post-war era house into the 21st century. The design concept for these projects was Small Bathroom, High Design - our challenge was to maximize the footprint of the bathrooms and accommodate their function seamlessly while also featuring a “wow” factor that would maintain its appeal for years to come.

We were challenged on this project to execute a phased construction due to the fact that our clients were occupying their home during construction. As such, we began with the Master Ensuite—fully executing that scope in full including municipal rough inspections and final inspections—and setting our primary focus on moving our clients back into their bedroom and back to “normal.” Once that goal was successfully achieved, we moved on to the other two bathrooms.

Each bathroom included its own individual style which featured complex, luxury tile. The smallest bathroom was involved intricate detail due to the fact that its tiny footprint barely allowed for one construction crew member at a time.

Ultimately, this post-war era residence was modernized with three luxury bathrooms which all reflected a sense of individuality while showcasing a cohesive and classic style throughout the home. All three spaces boast intricate details and engaging finishes, creating the “wow” factor that our clients dreamed.
