Final Reveal! 2800 N. Lake Shore Drive Residence

Constructed in 1968, 2800 N. Lake Shore Drive features 43-stories of high-rise luxury residences. This skyscraper was designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz and resides at the most eastern edge of Lincoln Park. This building boasts unobstructed views of the Loop, Lincoln Park, Diversey Harbor, Lake Michigan, Belmont Harbor, and Wrigley Field – these views represent some of the most well-renown attractions of our world-class city of Chicago.

Our clients resided full-time elsewhere in the country and often traveled abroad. They frequently travelled to Chicago and sought to plant roots in this city that they love. They wanted to have a place to call home when they visited and create a space that inspires them. The scope of this project included combining two individual condo units into one home, capturing 360-degree views of the city and lake. The interiors of both units were gut rehabbed to create a contemporary, modern aesthetic including wide-plank hardwood flooring, custom millwork and stone, a commercial-grade kitchen, contemporary lighting, and luxury bathrooms. This project also featured a smart-home system for audio-visual and lighting controls.

As in all high-rise projects, Integro was challenged to deliver this project on time and on budget while accommodating the demands of the building management. This including protecting the common hallways, reserving elevators, managing confined working hours, collaborating with building management for oversight, tying into pressurized common utility piping and chases, and working around the structural reinforced concrete without compromising the design intent. Furthermore, many of the finishes installed were being delivered from around the globe which added an extra element of complexity regarding lead times, deliveries, and scheduling.

In collaboration with Rebel House Design, Integro transformed these separate condos into one cohesive space. Now, when our clients visit the Windy City, they have an inspiring place to call home.
